Parent information sessions online - SPICE and risks to young people

For nine consecutive years the North East has had the highest rate of drug-related deaths of anywhere in England and Wales.
Within this Middlesbrough has the highest rate of drug misuse deaths in England. As a school that serves the Middlesbrough community we are concerned and know you will be too.
There have been instances (not at Hollis Academy) where young people have used SPICE in a vape and required hospitalisation. SPICE usage can kill, and we have taken steps here in school to ensure staff are trained in using lifesaving medication in the unlikely event a young person in our Academy uses SPICE. We deliver a comprehensive series of visitor talks and PSHCE sessions on drugs and their risks to ensure young people can make choices to keep themselves and others safe.
 
We know SPICE is available in Middlesbrough and would like to support parents and carers in finding out more. We work with Recovery solutions on providing high quality sessions and they are available on these dates:
