This week Yr9 students at Hollis have been hosted by Suez at their waste-to-energy plant at Haverton Hill. The students are studying Renewable Energy in Science and this is a great opportunity to create cross-curricular and careers links in their Vocational Education programme.

 

The students had a talk about how the plant works and the recycling work that Suez does generally, a discussion about careers in the industry, and then a tour of the plant - including climbing the 20-metre chimney and seeing inside the 1000 degree Celsius furnace!
