As part of our Black History Month celebrations, students had the exciting opportunity to meet professional boxer Troy Williamson for a special visit to school.
The session began with a mini Q&A, where students asked thoughtful questions about Troy's journey into boxing, the challenges he has faced throughout his career, and the dedication required to succeed in professional sport. Troy spoke openly about the importance of resilience, hard work, self-belief, and setting goals, providing students with valuable inspiration both inside and outside the classroom.
Following the Q&A, students took part in an engaging boxing session led by Troy.
The workshop gave students the chance to learn basic boxing techniques, footwork, and fitness exercises in a fun and safe environment. Throughout the session, Troy encouraged participation, teamwork, and perseverance, helping students to build confidence while staying active.
The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved and provided a memorable way to celebrate Black History Month. Students left feeling inspired by Troy's achievements and the positive messages he shared about determination, discipline, and striving for success.
