Remote Learning

During the current national lockdown, Hollis Academy has been required to partially close, and we want to ensure you and your child know what to expect from remote education if your child needs to learn from home. Where your child is self-isolating, they will be provided with remote education for the period they are off – information regarding this provision is also included in this document.

We all know how important attending school is and that high attendance leads to a better education. However, students may not be able to attend school for a variety of reasons and, because we don't want anyone to miss out on their education, we have brought together a number of ways students can learn at home.

Microsoft 365 & Teams

All students have been given access to Microsoft Office suite of applications. These can be accessed through by clicking Microsoft 365. Here students will find "Teams", which has the work set for completion, any relevant supporting documents and links to other information. Student guides are available below:

Mental Health and Wellbeing

In addition to the lessons available, we would like to guide students to the links below. They contain useful information about keeping safe during the pandemic by helping out with mental health and wellbeing. If you (student, parent or carer) have any questions about this subject or any concerns please get in touch with us.

Rise Above - A resource with videos, games and articles specifically designed to support children and young people.

Every Mind Matters - Here you will find a wealth of resources from activities to help stop boredom to support when things are not going right. Supported by the NHS this is aimed at everyone in the home.
